Phosphorus flame retardants are widely used in plastic products, textiles, upholstered furniture, and children’s products, the market share is increasing because of its high stability and low toxicity. In recent years consumers have become increasingly concerned about the potential health risks of chemical flame retardants. The EU and the United States have been promoting the management and control of phosphorus flame retardants.
