ECHA OFFICIALLY PUBLISHES THE SIXTEENTH BATCH SVHC CANDIDATE LIST

On the 12th of January 2017 The European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) added four new Substances to be included in the Candidate List of Very High Concern (SVHCs), The substances are BPA, PFDA and its sodium and ammonium salts, p-(1,1-dimethylpropyl)phenol and 4-heptylphenol, branched and linear. PROHIBITION OF CERTAIN TOXIC SUBSTANCES REGULATIONS 2012 WILL ADD FIVE SUBSTANCES

On the 5th of October the Canada Gazette published that Prohibition of Certain Toxic Substances Regulations 2012 has added five substances they are HBCD, PFOA, LC-PFCAs, PBDEs and PFOS. PROHIBITION OF CHILDREN’S TOYS AND CHILD CARE ARTICLES CONTAINING SPECIFIED PHTHALATES: DETERMINATIONS REGARDING CERTAIN PLASTICS

Summary The Consumer Product Safety Commission (Commission, or CPSC) published 16 CFR 1308 a proposal to determine that certain plastics with specified additives would not contain the specified phthalates prohibited in children’s toys and child care articles. Based on these assumptions the specified plastics with specified additives would not require third party testing for compliance
