RECALL ANALYSIS FOR APPAREL AND FOOTWEAR — JAN. 2017

European Union
EU RAPEX systems notified 11 cases in which 36% were notified because of strangulation or injuries hazard. These 4 children’s apparel do not comply drawstring regulation. 1 children’s apparel was notified because they pose a risk of choking and contain small parts which can easily detach and be swallowed by small children. In chemical risks, 3 products contain exceeded chromium VI and 1 product contains exceeded formaldehyde and 1 products’ metal rivets release an excessive amount of nickel . In addition, 1 ladies’ fashion shoes was notified because the sole of the shoe may pose an unusual risk of slipping.

U.S.A.
One children’s apparel was recalled because it contains small parts which can easily detach and be swallowed by small children.

Canada
There are 3 cases of apparel were recalled in Canada. 1 infant bathrobes and 2 children’s sleepwear were recalled because they do not comply with flammability regulation.
