EUROPEAN ELECTRO TECHNICAL STANDARDIZATION COMMITTEE(CENELEC) PUBLISHED NEW AMENDED ELECTRIC TOYS-SAFETY STANDARD EN 62115:2005+A12:2015

On the 31st of January the European Electro technical Standardization Committee(CENELEC) published the new amended electric toys-safety standard EN 62115:2005+A12:2015.

EN 62115:2005+A11:012 will be withdrawn on the 4th of June 4.

The main details of amendment:
1) Added Annex ZC, Toys with an integrated field source generating EMF shall comply with EN 62233:2008.
In EN 62233:2008, Clause A.1 “General”, the following has been added:
Toys without a motor, inductor or which only include passive electronic components, are considered to comply with this requirement without measurement. The requirements do not apply to parts of toys consuming a current of 3 A or less.
The current is checked by measurement during the tests of EN 62115:2005, 9.3, unless the construction of the toy is such that the current cannot exceed 3 A.
In EN 62233:2008, A.2.3 “Measuring distances and sensor location”, the following chart has been added:

2) When the markings or instructions are on the packaging, it shall also be stated that the  packaging must be retained since it contains important information.
